Daring to believe…. Daring to propose

"Let's overcome our feeling of helplessness…". This is the answer to the challenges humanity has to face in the 21st century proposed by the Fondation Charles Léopold Mayer pour le Progrès de l'Homme (FPH, Paris). It is also a compelling invitation that has found its way to the hearts and minds of thousands of people in all parts of the world. They joined their forces and hopes in the Alliance for a Responsible, Plural and United World, generously supported by the FPH since 1994. The dynamics of this Alliance is nourished by a two-fold conviction : we can't let it happen that our children grow up in a world where the dignity of the human being and the respect for Mother Earth are not the basic guiding principles for human behaviour. And : we have to assume responsibility, each and everyone of us, according to our own potential, from the level of the home to all levels of the workplace and public life.
Why ? Not simply because it is our duty to act responsibly. There is a more profound answer to it : the passion of love for all that lives, other human beings, flowers, animals, the beauty of nature, our love for this immense creative force of Life itself. We cannot let it happen that this love is replaced by feelings of powerlessness or even despair. Let's dare to believe…. let's dare to act
