This particular special issue no. 27/28 focuses on methodology for social and cultural analysis and action. It develops the reflection proposed on the notion of cultural dynamics in development work (no. 24, April 1996). Issue no. 25/26 (October 1996) dealt with « Women's Ways of Shaping their Realities » in various cultural contexts. The next issue will offer the conclusions of our research project on the « embeddedness » in local cultures of economic life. It will tackle the issue of globalization v. local spaces.

All these special issues constitute an invitation to readers and friends to participate in the celebration of Network Cultures' tenth anniversary. Two « Summing Up Events » take place, one in India (3-10 February 1997), the other in Belgium (17-19 October 1997) to allow all of us together to take stock of what has been achieved and to chart new roads.
